Environmental Monitoring

Environmental decision-making is founded on data; data obtained by careful sampling and analysis of groundwater, surface water, soil, soil vapor, and air. To obtain these data, TriAD provides a wide range of environmental monitoring services. We then work closely with certified laboratories to ensure that the client obtains the necessary data quality.

TriAD personnel are familiar with both traditional and cutting edge sampling methodologies, including low-flow groundwater sampling and no-purge methods such as passive diffusion bags. We are also experienced with U.S. EPA method 5035 soil sampling for trace volatile organics and with the Tennessee UST method (TGD018) for soil vapor sampling.

Once data have been collected, they must be evaluated using standard methods to allow consistent interpretation. TriAD has significant experience in performing and evaluating statistical analyses of groundwater monitoring data for detection, assessment, and corrective action monitoring in accordance with U.S. EPA and state guidance for RCRA and solid waste programs. Our personnel are also familiar with the latest risk-based screening levels and background (natural) inorganic concentrations, against which environmental data are compared to determine environmental risk.

TriAD works closely with our clients to prepare and submit to regulatory agencies both routine and contingency reports of monitoring data. Whether a monthly report of discharge under an NPDES permit, or a 14-day notification of a potential permit exceedance, TriAD’s internal quality control ensures an accurate and complete reporting to the regulatory agency.
