Johnson City Continuing Education Center Site Remediation

TriAD evaluated and determined the extent of remediation necessary at this barium-impacted “brownfield” site, and prepared engineering plans and specifications for remediation of the Site via Solidification/Stabilization. Engineering Plans and Specifications, Contract Documents, a Construction Quality Assurance Plan, a Health and Safety Plan, and a Performance Standards Verification Plan were prepared, and these documents were used by the City and TriAD to solicit bids for the remediation.

TriAD assisted the City in evaluating the bids and then acted as the Supervising Contractor, performing oversight as approximately 8,000 cubic yards of soils were excavated, treated, and replaced onsite. A no-further-action decision was later made by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, and the site was developed as a convention center-hotel complex.
