Asbestos

In 1986 Congress passed the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), a provision of the Toxic Substances Control Act. AHERA requires local educational agencies to inspect their schools for Asbestos Containing Building Materials (ACBM) and prepare a management plan that make recommendations for the reduction of asbestos hazards. TriAD provides a wide range of services dealing with asbestos in schools. We can conduct an initial ACBM survey and prepare a full management plan. If the school system already has a management plan in place, we can provide six-month periodic surveillances and/or three-year re-inspections. We also update management plans if documentation has not been kept up to date within the existing management plan.

TriAD also provides project monitor services, which include air monitoring and oversight duties of all facets of an asbestos.

Prior to demolition, renovations, or maintenance of a building an asbestos survey is often required. We provide asbestos surveys for any type of structure at all types of facilities, including residential homes, schools, factories, hospitals, and commercial buildings.

TriAD provides area air sampling during asbestos abatement activities as well as project monitor oversite duties to ensure that the work being done complies with local, state, and federal regulations. We also conduct final air clearances following asbestos abatement to confirm that asbestos fiber concentrations are below the clearance level, so that the area can be re-occupied.

TriAD also provides OSHA-compliant personal air sampling for employees that may be exposed to asbestos inhalation in the workforce.
