Mold and Radon

Mold can be a difficult environmental hazard to track down. TriAD has the tools and knowledge to find mold and identify the species of molds and fungi that are present. We can find the root of the problem causing mold intrusion and make recommendations on how to resolve the issue. A mold investigation typically includes collecting air samples, collecting tape-lift samples if visible mold is present, testing the moisture levels in the surrounding walls, floors and ceilings, and measuring the temperature and relative humidity at the sampling location. A visual inspection is also conducted to identify visible mold and potential causes of mold intrusion. Following the site visit, we send the samples to a certified laboratory for analysis. Upon receiving the laboratory results we compile a comprehensive report documenting all findings. Every building is different, and the needs of clients vary, so we design each job to meet those needs.

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer. It is an odorless, colorless gas that can migrate from the ground and into a building through utility connections or tiny cracks or seams in a building’s foundation. Radon is one of the leading causes of lung cancer in non-smokers. TriAD personnel can perform radon monitoring by placing radon sampling media in specific locations throughout a building and leaving the samples in place for a number of days. After the designated time period, TriAD will return to the site, collect the sample media, document site conditions, and deliver the samples to a certified laboratory for analysis. Upon receiving the laboratory results we prepare a comprehensive report including all findings and recommendations.
